Learning to love living single is a prerequisite for having a desirable dating life. Too many times when we are dissatisfied with our lives and with ourselves we dream about that guy or girl coming to rescue us thinking that someone other than ourselves can make our lives perfect.

Not only are we kidding ourselves when we think this way we are setting ourselves up for dating disappointments. Desperation is a dating repellent and a good one at that.
Even though we might not come right out and say 'rescue me' we most certainly give off needy vibes. Neediness breeds on itself and emotional distress and desperation is the result. Our unfulfilled desires and needs plummet our self-esteem and self worth.
The good news is we can nix the neediness by realizing that neediness stems from loneliness. And when we are feeling lonely what we are truly desiring is companionship, friendship and affection. All things that we can actively give to others.
By giving we receive. By being a good friend to others we get friendship in return. By being a good companion we receive the gift of companionship. And by giving affection we get affection back.
We can also give ourselves the attention and affection that we are desiring so that we do not feel the need for someone else to give it to us. When we start making ourselves a priority we start to enjoy our own company and then magically others start enjoying being with us. It is a transformational process that does not happen overnight but rather develops over time. The best part is that once we start loving our life other people naturally want to be a part of it. And when that happens our lives become full and fabulous!
